崔栄梨さんは福岡の金平団地出身で、朝鮮学校で美術を教えています。金平団地は古い 在日コミュニティの一つです。第二次世界大戦後、朝鮮戦争が勃発したことを含む様々 な状況の中で、朝鮮半島出身者の方の多くは、故郷に戻ることができず博多の町にとど まりました。こうした人々が現在の浜松地区のあたりに居を構えコミュニティが形成さ れ、何度かの取り壊し、建て替え、移転などを経て、現在にいたっています。
今回、崔栄梨さんの個人的な物語から、それぞれに関連を持つ、いくつかの壁画作品を制 作しました。作品は、龍宮寺と博多せんしょう(市場)でご覧いただけます。博多せんし ょうは、金平団地にも近く、今も韓国食材店が残っています。子供のころ、崔さんも、せ んしょうに買い物に訪れていました。そこで今回、崔さんにもせんしょうでの作品制作に
加わってもありました。観客の皆さんは、地図をたどって作品を見て、壁画近くに掲示さ れた QR コードを読み込むことで、彼女の物語を聞くことができます。また、浜松地区に 続く道を散策しながら、日本の在日コミュニティの痕跡を感じることもできるでしょう。

Che Yon-Ly comes from the Fukuoka Kanehira Danchi community and now teaches fine arts in a North Korean school in Fukuoka. The Kanehira Danchi is one of the oldest Zainichi ( Japan resident ) community, i.e. Korean residents in Japan. After World War II, the Korean War broke out and together with other additional factors had thus caused many Koreans unable to return to their peninsula and were therefore held back at the port of Hakata. They formed a settlement in the present-day Hamamatsu area and had since gone through government-led demolishment and resettlement.
From the life stories written by Che Yon-Ly, I had developed a series of mural paintings and they are scattered in the Ryugu-ji Temple (龍宮寺) and the Hakata Sensho Market in Fukuoka. A tradition says that a mermaid appeared on the Hakata bay in 13 century, and it was believed to be the sign of the long well-being and the temple was renamed as a name of the castle where mermaids live (龍宮寺). Through this beautiful legend, I revealed the Koreans unable to return to homeland and stayed at the Fukuoka after WW 2 and represented this past through art-making to open up future imaginations.
The Sensho Market is located near the Kanehira Danchi area and there are still Korean grocery stores in it. As a child, Ms. Che had often spent her time in this Sensho Market. I had invited her to participate in the mural production. Audiences could look for the murals according to the map and then listen to her stories embedded in the QR codes beside the paintings. At the same time, one could stroll down the streets of the Hamamatsu area, catching a glimpse of the last remaining Zainichi Korean community in Japan.

崔榮梨(Che, Yon-Ly)來自福岡的金平団地 ( Kanehira Danchi )社區，現為福岡朝鮮學校的美術老師，金平団地是歷史悠久的「在日韓國人」社區，二戰結束 後，韓戰的爆發及一些原因，在福岡博多港口無法返回朝鮮半島的人留了下 來，並在金平団地(現為浜松地區)形成一個聚落，至今歷經了一些政府的拆遷和改建。
從崔榮梨描寫生命的文字出發，我將它發展成系列的壁畫作品，分別散落在福岡的龍宮寺 ( Ryugu-ji Temple )和 Sensho 市場的橫尾漬物店，龍宮寺供奉著傳說中十三世紀出現在博多灣的人魚骨頭，在當時，這是一件帶來吉祥徵兆的事，對映著這則傳說，透過創作來隱喻二戰後在福岡留下來的韓國人、以及對於東亞未來的正面想像。除了龍宮寺，Sensho 市場位在靠近金平団地的區域，現仍有一些韓國商店的進駐，也是崔榮梨兒時常去的地方，我邀請她在市場裡一起參與壁畫的製作過程。觀眾可使用地圖找到這些壁畫，以及使用壁畫旁邊的 QR code 來聆聽她的生命故事，也可順路到金平団地走走，感受在日韓國社區的吉光片羽。
